The Year of Return book launch in Accra is a week away!
August 10th. Accra International Conference Centre. 1:30 pm. Get your copies signed, get some merch, take some pics, let's get lit. π₯π
To my people in Accra, the news you have all been waiting for! It has been my pleasure over the past few months to step out of my house and have a friend or stranger ask me, βWhere can I get a copy of your book?β It has not been nearly as pleasant to respond apologetically, again and again. Thank heavens I donβt have to do that anymore.
The Year of Return launches in Ghana in just ONE WEEK. Iβve created a special button to help you add it to your calendar so you donβt forget!
Iβm so happy because this edition is going to be much more affordable for my beloveds who live and earn in cedis. The dollar conversion of my own book threatened to activate my gag reflex. Ghanaβs economy is hard, but that doesnβt mean we shouldnβt read!
Saturday, August 10th. 1:30 pm. Accra International Conference Center. The book launch will be taking place as part of the 21st Ghana International Book Fair, so when you get there, navigate to the stand of my publisher, Smartline. There will also be a big, blown-up version of my book cover that may help you find your way.
The Ghanaian edition not only features a slightly modified cover, but a brand-new cover blurb from the supernova that is Ama Asantewa Diakaβauthor, poet, performer, community organizer, singer, artist, entrepreneur, and (whether she knows or approves or not) my adopted big sister.
If you want a sneak peak of what you might get if you come through, check out these posts by some of my favorite Ghanaian bookstagrammers.
I cannot wait to see you on Saturday. ππΈοΈπ·οΈ
